Well, yesterday, we were at Brighton Beach. A perfect sunny day on the 4th of July. Among the crowded hords at the beach, we noticed one elderly man, perhaps in his 70s. Bald head with thinning grey hairs, a pronounced belly, old man black socks and shoes.....and around his waist, his bathing suit of choice was a bright g-string thong, putting his old man wrinkly butt in full display.
After our initial discomfort and judgmental disgust, we celebrated this old man as he kept adjusting his thong, as if to give the crowd a better view. He was obviously proud of what "skin bag" he has been given without any thought of altering or hiding it from display.
Getting back to the so called monster, she is certainly a victim of what society sometimes demands, or the conditions they set. I remember growing up in an Orthodox Jewish community, and was confronted by many Orthodox Jews who could not understand how another Jewish person could not be Orthodox...could not be fully observant with the fear of G-d.
They have been so conditioned through the fear of G-d, they could not imagine anything outside the box of Orthodoxy. Our dancer also has been conditioned by the fear of G-d. Our society creates many false G-ds, and our dancer too has found a false G-d to fear.
We celebrate the old man in the green g-string thong because despite how unattractive his choice of bathing wear may be, he has shed himself of the false G-ds society tries to impose.
